Bonjour Bebe Shower

In January, my friends in Charlotte threw a very thoughtful shower for bebe Leanderson.  The French theme was carried through every detail of the fete including the food, gifts and even music.  It was such a treat!
Susan, KC, Maria and Emily did an incredible job of hosting.
Emelie's french macaroons have been a pregnancy staple so it was especially meaningful that they were served at the shower.  They even had lavender lemonade and fondue!
I was really touched that so many of my co-workers and friends came to celebrate.
Laura and Kara are both new mommas so having them there was really special!
And, as evidence by this series, my friends know me well- I'm super excited about dressing our little guy.

Week 37 and 38

Time feels to have slowed down as we approach March 3rd.  Heavy with excitement and full of promise, each day seems longer than the last.

Week 37 and 38 have been the most tedious, but marked with lasting memories.

  • Charlotte enjoyed it's first real snow in over 2 years; the backyard was a winter wonderland for about 12 hours!
  • We took a road trip (Major included) to Greenville, SC to visit KC and Jon
  • Valentines day was celebrated with gusto thanks to Mat
  • Nesting is in full swing as we furiously scratch things off the to-do list

Week 36 Letter to Baby

Dear Baby,

Comparing last year's picture from Charleston to the one we took this week speaks volumes.  One of our favorite places was made even more special thinking about the trips we will take there with you in the future.
The highlight of our week was when you surprised us by flashing a big grin during your ultrasound checkup.  It has been over 20 weeks since we've seen your wriggling shape on the ultrasound screen and it was astounding to see how much you've grown (you weighed in at 6 lbs and 9 oz)! We've been gushing over your adorable, albeit murky, features ever since.

We're less than one month away from your due date and are anxiously counting down the days until you're here!

Love,
Mom and Dad
